about
A studio that takes projects to order and carries them from idea to release.
The studio
WM Soft, Corp. is a small, senior software studio registered in the State of Florida, United States. We have been building software since 2014. We design, write, ship, and maintain applications for phones and desktops, together with the networked systems and tooling behind them.
We work to order. We take on a small number of engagements at a time, and the people who talk to a client are the people who write that client's code.
Two ways a project starts
You have a specification. You know what the software must do; we estimate it, build it, and deliver it. Where the specification is silent - and one always is - we ask rather than guess.
You have an idea. Sometimes it is a paragraph, sometimes a market and a hunch. We turn it into something that can be built and shipped: what it is, what it is not, what the first version contains, and what waits until the second. A good number of the games we have made began as our own concepts, so this is familiar ground.
In both cases one team carries the project through design, development, and release, and stays for the maintenance afterwards if that is what you want. Nothing is handed over a wall halfway.
Where we came from
We began with casual games for desktop, and built social games for Facebook while the players were there. When phones took over, we ported those games across, then stopped adapting and started writing for mobile directly. Applications followed: storefronts, casino games, a torrent client, utilities, and the networked machinery that keeps such things running.
Whose name is on it
Nearly all of that was commissioned. Publishers and clients release the result under their own name, which is ordinary for contract development. Those names are theirs to announce, not ours, and most engagements are covered by confidentiality agreements besides.
So this site talks about the work rather than the logos: which platforms, which problems, and how we go about them. If a client wants to be named, we are glad to name them.
How we build
- Cross-platform where it pays off. Shared logic and shared interface code across Android, iOS, and desktop, dropping to native where the platform actually demands it: camera pipelines, background execution, notifications, system integration.
- Privacy taken as a requirement. End-to-end encryption where the data deserves it, minimal collection, encrypted local storage, and no third-party trackers in what we ship.
- Verified on real devices. Automated suites run nightly against real phones - including two-device scenarios, where one phone has to genuinely reach another. Emulators are a first filter, never the verdict.
- Built to be maintained. Platforms change every year. Shipped software needs an owner, and we plan for the years after release, not only the week of it.
